Disneyland

We were able to do Disneyland for the first time for a family vacation.  I had my parents come with us so we had plenty of hands to help out.  It was a lifesaver.  We took advantage of the online deal of by 3 day park hoppers and get 5 for the same price.  It was loads of fun and so exhausting.  By the second day, we got a rhythm down and realized the good things about rides with fast passes and switch passes.  They made things so much easier.  The pictures above kind of highlight our stay.  We conveniently stayed in a hotel across form the front gate which made nap times easier to leave the park.  We also went to Huntington Beach on Hayden's birthday to eat and watch the sunset.  It turned out to be kind of cold, but it was still a fun experience.  In the end, Hayden got to be a Jedi and fight Darth Vader.  Hadley got to meet Tinkerbell, Rosetta, Cinderella, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty and we all got to have our first official family vacation which was great for us.  Thanks to mom and dad for hanging out with us.

Hayden's 5!

I think the pictures capture all the excitement from his birthday.  Especially when he got to be a Jedi and fight Darth Vader.  We have a video of him fighting, but I haven't put it up yet.  He's gotten pretty big since this picture was taken five years ago.

Bunch of Sticks

Time to update the family picture album.  Here are some fun group shots of my family :0)

Addison's Baby Blessing

We had Addison's Baby Blessing on the 7th while my family was in town.  It was also the last Sunday our original ward met together before splitting to their own new meeting times.  I was able to make Addison's blessing dress too.  I was a little worried about it at first because I had altered the pattern a little to make it different, but it all worked out just fine in the end.  In her blessing circle were Daddy, both grandpas, uncle Craig and the bishop.  I took notes for her journal so she could remember what was said when she gets older.

After church, we took a bunch of family pictures with her still in her dress.  I didn't get a bunch of her alone yet so keep watching for her personal photo shoot.  We had everyone for dinner and ate subs so we could keep the leftovers for our road trip the next day.  We also celebrated Hayden's birthday while we had a house full and the details and pictures are in another post.

I am so happy to have Addison as a member of our family.  She makes me so happy even when I am dead tired.  I look forward to watching her continue to change, grow and develop.  She's getting so big already.  It seems so crazy that is has been less than 2 months already since she joined us.

Family Invasion

It's been a little bit, but my side of the family finally got all together for Addison's baby blessing.  I was so glad to have them all here and be able to have fun catching up with everyone.  We got to hang out and have everyone play with their favorite nieces and nephew, granddaughters and grandson.  Here are the fun favorites of the day we were all together.

Remember a Parachute

The beginning of the month, I had my post delivery checkup with my doctor.  I was kind of nervous about how I had recuperated from delivery this time.  The doctor checked me out and then said that everything looked good and that everything I couldn't do the past 6 weeks (5 technically) was okay to do now.  I asked her if I could do everything now since we were going on a family vacation to California the next week and she said, "Well, as long as you promise to remember to wear your parachute if you jump out of a plane."

I assured her that I wouldn't be doing things that drastic, but it was still reassuring to me that anythings goes on vacation.  I thought her response was pretty fun.

Homemade

I had been invited to a baby shower of a friend from my previous ward and after just having a baby of my own, I found it hard to get out and get a gift for her so I decided to sit down and create from what I had around the house.  The above photo was my finished product.  I made a hooded baby towel in her preferred colors based on the registry as well as some manly burp cloths and tied fleece blanket.  Between the three kids, it came down to the wire to finish everything, but thanks to extra help from my hubby, I was able to take time to finish while he helped with kids.  Now if I can just find some more time to make burp clothes for Addison :0)
