I Love My Teacher

In church, Hadley has been in Primary as a new Sunbeam and I have always been nervous about it all because Hadley is very strong willed and sometimes a hand full. I am happy to report that things are improving for the most part. She really likes her teacher and any time she sees her some where else, she yells, "My teacher! Look! There's the girl! My teacher!" She has also told me how much she loves her teacher.

Sadly, Hadley's teacher will be moving and she will have to adjust to a new teacher. Hopefully the transition goes well enough and she will continue to grow and progress in becoming better at following directions in Primary.

Friend's Birthdays

Hayden has had a lot of friends have birthday parties recently and its been fun checking things out. I've been doing some re-con to figure out what exactly to do for his own birthday next month. His friend Jackson had a lego party complete with scavenger hunt and his friend Owen had a race car party complete with painting race cars and eating donuts off a string. I keep asking him to let me know who he wants to invite to his birthday party so that if there is someone I don't know of yet, I have time to figure things out before school lets out. His answers keep changing so I'll have to sit him down soon and nail the results down so we can finalize our plans. Wish me luck.

Ward Activity

We had a ward activity at the park the other night which turned out to be enjoyable. We had hot dogs and other food and the kids got to play on the play ground for a little bit. After a little, the darker it got, the colder it got and the kids, particularly Addy, were getting tired and started crying. We stayed and watched Daddy compete in one of the games they had and then called it a night. It was a pretty good activity and I was able to mingle and meet a few new people which was good as well.

Addy Waddy turns 1

I figured it was both funny and appropriate to make this blog entry on today since this was Addison's due date. She refused to wait another couple days to make it to May which was sad because I wanted her to have her own birthday month. That's okay though.

Her birthday wasn't anything fabulous. By the time we started celebrating with cake, it was passed her bed time so she was in no mood for eating cake and celebrating. She played around with it after a little encouragement.
Not much made her mouth. We skipped presents and decided to save that for another day.
I'm still amazed that I had no clue I was having a baby that day. It really did tick me off that I couldn't feel any contractions. I am so grateful for my daughter. She is precious in all respects. She is my peace after a storm. Her smile is electric and laughing is contagious. She is thoughtful and coy. There is a ton of personality packed into her tiny body.

She is all kinds of mobile now with her first steps slowly becoming more confident in distance. Her climbing of stairs is mastered. Going down is another question. She loves her puffs, but her own personal crack would have to be eating her yogurt melts. Expensive addiction, let me tell you. I've been trying to curb it with regular yogurt, but once she starts eating those, it is all over and she'll just keep demanding more. She also sleeps like a dream and so do I (like a log more often than none).
Adda, you are 11 lbs. heavier and 10 inches longer, but you are still my baby girl whom I am grateful to have in my life. You are beautiful and I look forward to watching you become your own person even more in the years to come. I love you!

Meine Schwester

For all of the fighting and bickering you do as little kids, when you are older, you really do love and appreciate your family, especially for me, my two sisters. I was able to have my little sister come and visit me from Provo and I had some fun laughing and catching up with her.

She came down for a long weekend. She is currently trying to figure out where to do her internship for School Psych. I brought her to PIE night at Hayden's school. It stands for Parents In Education and they explained a little more about how being an Empowerment School involves certain details and what to expect. She found it interesting and brought some info back to discuss with her professors (about the testing done and what not).

The next day, I had forgot I was supposed to volunteer helping in Hayden's classroom so I asked the teacher about the school's psych and if she had some time to talk to my sister about her job and internships. Things worked out good because While I helped out, she talked with the school psych and got some valuable insight.

We were supposed to have movie night that night, but plans changed since it was so windy out. Instead, we rented the planned movie and watched it on our own couch instead a school play ground.

The weekend was also filled with eating Carvel cake, hanging out, staying up really late to watch the blue ray version of Avatar and being introduced to a funny music video that brought some memories of my hometown back to me called "the 603." It's on youtube. Totally hilarious and catchy and that explains the hand gesture in the above photo. Queen City Baby. Thanks for coming to visit me meine schwester and I am also glad that most of the Carvel Cake transported survived the 5 hour journey. Love you!

One Year Older and Wiser Too

Happy Birthday, To You!

A couple weeks ago, I had another birthday come around. We weren't really sure how to celebrate because Jared had the PE exam that he needed to study for and take all that week so it was more low profile this year.

We agreed that we would do Carvel cake, my favorite, that night and then shop for presents on Saturday after the test.

The morning started pleasant with a Happy Birthday Mommy! greeting me from Hayden and a quasie hug from Hadley. The kids did good that morning. When I went to drop Hayden off at school, nobody knew it was my birthday so it was kind of fun just relaxing and enjoying the normalcy. The cute gesture that morning was from a little girl I taught Joy School too. Pammie came up to me all quiet and tugged on my clothes and whispered, "Happy Birthday Sister Judd."

It made me smile and I thanked her for it before the kids finished lining up to go inside. I found a deal or two for my birthday while shopping at Michaels. In my spare room, I have my crafts and projects and I needed to organize some more. I already had 4 carts stacked on the sides nicely with the pull out Iris cases and I found a white one on the side as a clearance item. I inspected it and found two of the cases busted in one corner of each. I looked at the price and it was $17.49 which is amazing from the $60 it was. I couldn't pass it up and I got it for even less with a 40% coupon which could make up for replacing the cases that are busted.

I also found a little shelf that holds ribbon. I have A LOT of ribbon and never know the best way to store it. I used a coupon for that too so it was a lot cheaper too. I am excited to have it. I like making hooded towels, but the ribbon for all of them is literally taking over my room :) I've got inventory, anybody want to buy one from me?

Anyways, I really wanted Cafe Rio Pork Barbacoa Quesadillas and I figured I would be cheap about it so I made the recipe I got from a friend and had that simmer in the slow cooker all day. They were so tastey. I loved it!

The kids present to me was the ability to not fight and get in trouble all day. It was awesome! I really appreciated my birthday. It was relaxing and enjoyable and I got to top it off with singing Happy Birthday and eating my beloved Carvel Cake that I picked up during quiet time.

Saturday, we were able to go on a shopping trip where I helped pick out my presents. I needed new skillets because of peelings and what not so my awesome hubby bought me a hard anodized skillet, a beautiful new pot with a strainer in the lid and my very own wok. I was always never about doing stir fry in my hubby's wok because I didn't want to ruin it so now I am excited to let loose and have fun trying my skills out. I also got some much needed basket organizers for my ever growing pantry for more room and a steamer to try and make cleaning a little easier. I'll report on that a little later :)

So, here is to another year being older. For those of you who feel bad for missing it, that's okay because I really didn't want to make a big hoopla. I got what I wanted for my birthday so thank you!
